Sewer Line Replacement in Tempe, AZ

Sometimes repair isn't the right answer. When a line is badly bellied, severely root-damaged across its whole length, or made of obsolete material like orangeburg or clay, full replacement is the longer-term solution.

A full sewer line replacement covers the entire lateral — from the foundation cleanout at your house all the way to the connection with the city sewer main in the street. In Tempe, that's typically 40 to 80 feet depending on lot size and street setback.

For open-cut replacement, we excavate the trench, remove the old pipe, and install Schedule 40 PVC bedded in sand to the depth required by Tempe's public works standards. The trench is backfilled in compacted lifts and the surface is restored to match the existing material — whether that's concrete, asphalt, pavers, or lawn.

Pipe bursting lets us do the same full replacement without an open trench. The bursting head breaks the old pipe outward while a new HDPE line follows behind it. We need access pits at each end of the run, but the footprint of disruption is dramatically smaller than traditional excavation.
